Nelson's carry's both Spinning and Conventional surf rods, and has a wide range of options. For the most experienced anglers, we carry custom built rods incorporating the finest components, as well as high-end Lamiglass rods. We also stock St. Croix, Penn, Tsunami, Tica, and Ugly Stick surf rods, as well as SeaStrikes Beachrunner series, Daiwai's Sealine series and Silstar Pinnicle.

Starting with our top of the line custom made rods, we also carry custom rods from CMS, as well as rods made by Penn, Tsunami, Daiwai and Billfisher.
Light Tackle Spinning and Conventional Rods
Going for either schoolie bass or blues on top, or drifting for fluke, flounder or tautog, Nelson's has the right rods for your style of fishing. From 6 to 7 _ feet, we carry a wide array of St. Croix, Penn, Shimano, and Tsunami rods.
Reels
Listening to our customers, Nelson's focuses on two main lines, Penn and Shimano.
Spinning
Penn's entire line is represented. The SS series, Slammers, Liveliners, 704's, as well as the Captiva and Silver series. Shimano is covered from the high-end Stradics, along with the Spheros and Sedona series.
Conventional
For the big fish, the full range of Penn Senators are offered to ensure wire line, lead core, and mono trolling capabilities.
Lures
Whether you are on the beach casting metal, plugs, plastics, or soaking bait, or on the boat trolling or drifting, Nelson's offers an ever widening variety of artificial baits. A sampling of these are Super Strike, Atoms, Gags, Gibbs, Tsumani and Hab's lures, Kastmasters, Hopkins, Braid, and Crippled Herring metals, Fin Strike, Eagle Claw, and TideRite rigs, Berkley Gulp, Tsumani and Sluggo plastics, and BJ and River Fox jigs.
Fresh Bait
Fresh sand ells are received in every day, and live ells and sand worms are always available - if we don't have it, ask and we will get it!!

Services
Rod repairs
Tip replacement's done while you wait, with guide replacement and retie and reel seat repairs normally done within 48 hours.
Reel repairs
Minor adjustments and cleaning, and with 1000's of Penn reel parts on hand we normally have the part you need.
Line re-spooling
While you wait, we will strip and re-spool your reels with top quality regular line or superbraids, or stainless or monel wire.
Rod and Reel Rentals
Want to try surf casting for the striped bass and blues, or drifting for fluke out in the boat, but you need some equipment? Not to worry, Nelsons rents rod and reel's, which includes lures and bait, on a daily rate. We'll also show you some of the tricks to catching the big fish and the best spots to go to.

Custom rod building
Nelson's makes a wide range of custom rods, surf and boat, spinning as well as conventional. On any rod we make, we will custom measure you to ensure the rod is sized perfectly, and fully discuss the type of fishing to be performed so the blank, guides and reel seat can be perfectly matched to meet your exacting requirements.
Weigh Station
Nelson's is a Certified State of Mass. Weigh-In Station, so your catch can be certified by us for entry into the State's Saltwater Record Books!!
